From international superstars to young talents - they are the pioneers of a new wine generation: close to nature, obsessed with quality and genuine. We could not imagine better partners.
What makes a great wine? As different as tastes are, quality tastes every palate. And the formula for this is simple: complexity, balance, length.
We offer artisanal wines of a new generation that are far more than just funky. Puristic, terroir-driven and open-minded.
Artisan wines from Austria, France, Hungary, Germany and Spain. Made by independent winemakers who spend more time in the vineyard than in the laboratory. At Drops, you’ll find wines that taste of their origin rather than of a recipe. You’ll find artisan wines from Schätzel, Christian Tschida, Lichtenberger González, Casajou and Terra Vita Vinum.
Looking for a recommendation? Drop us a line. We’ll give you personalised advice, whether the wine is for Friday evening or for your cellar. For an initial overview, check out our wine packages, curated by theme and available in various sizes. Under ‘Bestsellers’ and ‘New Drops’, you can see what’s currently in demand and what’s new in stock.
Within Germany, we offer free delivery on orders of €100 or more; for orders below this amount, we charge €7.90. Separate terms apply to deliveries to other European countries; find out more here.
Whenever we bought wine online ourselves, we were faced with an endless wall of labels. We recognised a few names. The rest we had to guess. In a wine shop, you can ask for advice; in an online shop, you’re on your own.
Over the years, we’ve delved ever deeper into the world of natural and artisanal wines – in the vineyard, in the cellar and at the table. With every visit to winemakers, it became clearer: good wines need their story so that you can understand them. A list of prices isn’t enough.
That’s how Drops came about. We select artisanal wines from independent estates, know the people behind them, and advise you in the way we’d always have wanted to be advised ourselves. Serious wine, without pretension. For everyone who wants to know what’s in their glass and where it comes from. And for a wine culture that treats people and the land fairly.
To make it as easy as possible for you to find the right natural wine, Drops offers various ways to explore wines online: Wine Styles are our categories into which all wines are classified. Their onomatopoeic names are intended to give you a first idea of the wines: "Fresh & Juicy" are light, quaffable drops, "Fine & Layered" are medium-bodied, balanced wines, while "Rich & Bold" represents natural wines that intensely coat the palate. However, none of our natural wines are opulent; all are vibrant.
From the beginning, it was important for us that Drops offers wines for both natural wine beginners and seasoned connoisseurs. To make it easy for less experienced drinkers to find the right wines for them, we developed the first "Natural Wine Finder." It's a kind of quiz where wine sensory experiences are translated into flavors we all know: "Do you prefer vanilla ice cream, raspberry sorbet, or lemon sorbet?" With answers to a few simple questions, you'll quickly find a selection of natural wines that should match your taste perfectly. Give it a try! > Wine Finder.
For us, it's always incredibly exciting to explore the diversity of grape varieties in a wine region. Whether it's Sauvignon Blanc from Styria or Blaufränkisch from Hungary, the versatility and individuality are fascinating because each natural wine reflects the unique terroir of each wine-growing region and expresses very specific flavor characteristics. Styria in Austria is home to many natural wine producers and unique wine styles. In our online shop, you'll find aromatic white wines, complex orange wines, and mineral red wines. Also interesting are the autochthonous grape varieties, originally from the region, of different countries — discover Welschriesling or Grüner Veltliner from Austria or Riesling from the Pfalz, Germany.
Want to experience the taste of a whole country? Then it's recommended to explore the leading autochthonous grape varieties.
In France, for example, must-try grape varieties would include Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Pinot Noir, or Gamay. At Drops, you have the opportunity to explore natural wines from a wide range of indigenous grape varieties.
Discover artisanal wines from ethically and ecologically responsible vineyards. Whether certified organic or Demeter – the Drops Online Shop offers an extensive selection. But what are Demeter wines, anyway? And what does the term "Terroir" have to do with it? Demeter wines are produced in harmony with nature, following a holistic approach that avoids artificial fertilizers and chemical additives, providing a profound insight into sustainable winemaking. Simone P.I buy wine online quite often and have never visited a website like Drops. The Magic Triangle and the adjectives you chose (fine and layered or funky/classic etc) are really well done and make perfect sense. I love every part of the site, the clarity of the descriptions and also the selection which is not limited but you don't have 1000 beautiful labels and descriptions like WOW AMAZING and no idea what you are going to buy or drink. Good job, honestly.
I've never found it so easy to buy the perfect natural wine for any occasion - with Drops, just picking is (almost) as much fun as tasting the wines!

Picking a wine online is always tough, as you don't get the benefit of a tasting before. Thankfully on Drops the categorisation of wine styles & descriptions helped me a lot picking the right wine!
